Rut Matthijsen
Distinguished biochemist Rut Matthijsen was part of the Utrecht Kindercomité, a small group of college students who saved hundreds of Jewish children during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. In this excerpt, Rut discusses the falsification and printing work he was involved with during the war, including the underground publication of Jan Campert's poem The Eighteen Dead which became the anthem of the Dutch Resistance.
